Ok so say i have an average video camcorder (not specific) and i wanted to film a video in black & white and fade out to black and then change to color could I do it ? Could i do it with a average camcorder ? and What video editing system would you suggest?
Idk any camcorders that can do that, maybe camcorders on a more professional level can. Editing programs should have that feature allowing you to fade between b/w and color easily.
I have to mention just in case you don't know; if you want to go from b/w to color not color then b/w, then shoot the whole thing in color at first not in b/w. Trying to get color to appear starting from b/w is harder then the reverse. To go from color to b/w, the editing program simply takes the existing colors and can mute them or fade the colors out to nothing therefore giving a b/w look. But to take an already recorded b/w image and bring that into color is harder because the program has to start with b/w in the first place and has no idea where a color should be added. I.E. if a jacket is red, whose jacket gets red and how much red is needed. Maybe someone might have blue jeans on and where on the screen is the computer suppose to add blue. The computer doesn't see things as separate objects that make up an image, it sees it as pixels, just small tiny dots. So it doesn't know exactly where to add the colors. So if you want b/w to then fade to color, shoot it entirely in color then edit it. First make the image in b/w then fade it back into color. It's kinda like reverse engineering.
