Anyone heard of using stockings as a camera filter?
I read somewhere on the internet to use a women's stocking and stretch it over your camera lense in order to get a "movie feel" camera filter. Would this actually work? Does anyone know of some other techniques that will make an ordinary camera not look like mom and dads home videos?
It can provide what is called, in motion picture photography, a "soft" focus. It is used, often, in close ups of young, beautiful female leads. It softens hard edges and hads a kind of sparkle to highlights.
I also echo the other person's sentiments for your to PLAY with your camera to help explore it's possibilities. Jiggle it, take pictures in the dark, photograph through the bottome of a water glass, throw colored foil in the air and shoot.
