camera can only hold 21 pictures, but i bought a 600 picture holding memory card?
i just got a new camera today , a nikon coolpix. i recharged the battery , and went to the store to buy a new memory card. the guy at the store said the memory card i bought could hold up to 600 pictures. i was taking pictures when it said memory full on my camera. i had only taken 21 pictures. how can i fix this??! oh and the memory card was from sandisk.
It sounds like you might have locked the memory card by mistake, so the camera can't write to it. The 21 pictures are just in the internal memory of the camera.
Assuming it is an SD type card, take it out of the camera and look at it with the logo facing you and the contacts (gold bits) at the top. On the left hand side of the card is a small piece of plastic you can move with your finger. It should be labelled 'lock'. You need to slide this tab to the top of the card, the edge with the gold contacts on. This enables the camera to write to the card.
