2000 Ford Focus LX Check engine light flashing, could it be in error?
I recently had my EGR tube and gasket replaced, it was making noise from the air leaking out, I never got an error code on my OBD. (first time I changed it I did). Anyway, had it replaced drove for a couple of days and my check engine light started flashing. I pulled over checked under the hood to see if any wires looked burnt or were loose, nothing. Went home ran my code reader no codes (light stopped flashing when I pulled over), took it to my mechanic and he said I pretty much have to wait and see if it flashes again and stays that way to pinpoint problem since code won't show up on either OBD diagnostic readers if its off. My question is; could the OBD have flashed in error because I replaced the damaged part? I also checked my gas cap, wires look fine, and it hasn't flashed since the one time. I take pretty good care of the car so any input would be appreciated.
Hey ec,My Daughter's Focus Did the Same Thing,The Check Engine Light blinked occasionally,But Never made a code,I was sure the Alternator was going bad Or their was a loose electrical connection,She Messed around and Drove it till It died at School And She Had to Tow it to the shop,The Alternator Went Out,The Tech said the Focus Alternator's did that On A regular Basis,Not On The Same CAR But others running Around out there.
