How do I remove a rear lens cap from a Nikon AF-S Nikkor 70-300 VR lens?
The rear lens cap cannot be removed so that the lens may be attached to the camera.
Just turn it. If it doesn't go loose clockwise, turn the other way then turn closkwise again. There is no lock (as far as I know) to worry with rear lens caps. That just has been pushed far too tighly. Make sure to hold the barrel of the lens firmly and do the whole exercise at the middle of the bed (cushion) just in case something drops accidentally.
