Circular Polarizer Filter

Is it practical to use a circular polarizer with a sky filter?
It's not recommended.
The sky filter is usually placed on as a sacrifical filter to protect the lens and doesn't serve a great deal of optical purpose. The situations where you would use a skylight filter (to clear UV haze) and a polariser (usually in clear skies, or shooting reflective surfaces) are quite different.
If you are using a wide angle lens there is more chance of vignetting (black edges where the field of view of the lens catches the double mounted filters in shot)
There are other problems such as internal reflection between the filters unless you are using very expensive super HMC hoyas.
There are other risks such as over tightening and in doing so damaging the filters or worse the lens.
All in all, avoid.
If you must double mount filters then i would suggest you use something like the cokin or lee slot in filters.
