How do I copy my pictures from my camera to my computer?
Every time I plug in my camera the scan wizard is SUPPOSED to come up but for some reason it doesn't. I went to My Computer and my camera isn't there!
But the worst part of all is if I unplug or turn off my camera my computer shuts down! So it's wasting my battery and there really isn't anything I can do about it!
I have Windows XP and a Panasonic camera.

Don't bother with cables or special software!
The easiest and best method to download photos and video from your camera to your computer is via a little USB card reader (which are quite cheap these days).
Card readers also work for moving photos from the computer onto a card.
Plug the reader into a USB port and insert the memory card.
It will show up as a drive, and you can simply drag and drop the photos across to the folder of your choice.
