How much do film makers make after the distribution companies have taken their cut?
Conducting a bit of research for a client who is looking at producing an animated film. They would like to find out how much, on average, the person who makes the film actually makes i.e. a percentage of the total money the film makes. Any ideas on sites I can visit or people I could speak too much appreciated.
it depends what kind of company takes his film. if it is a major distributor like warner bros. then he should expect to get a lot but if its a small company then he shouldn't expect to get much. although i recommend that if a company is willing to buy their product to sell it but know how much it is worth.
