How to loosen up tight curls???

I DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT PRODUCTS YOU USE sry caps lock lol...I want to know if you have a process that you do, like braiding or putting your hair into a bun...i usually air dry, i don't have a diffuser or a curling iron...these are the prodcuts that have access to, if it helps:
coconut oil, gel, sunsilk straighten up 24/7 creme
the shampoo/conditioner i use is :pantene pro-v hydrating curls...
usually I put my hair in a ponytail and i want the curls to be a little longer and looser, like the impression that you straightened your hair and then curled it, without actually doing it. PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR OPINIONS AND SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY...I DON'T WANT TO BUY ANY PRODUCTS...thx so much!!
With what you have, the easiest way would be to put gel into your wet hair and then braid it. Or, instead of braiding, you could take a section of hair, twist it, and then curl it up and pin it against your head. Do this all over and let dry.
For the best results, use a curling iron and hair spray to hold the curls.
