vivitar 5 mp 3x zoom purchased new 5/2006. never took it out of box until 2 months ago to bring on vacation. still didn't use it - used digital camcorder instead. when we returned home the two sets of cables that came with the camera were not in the carry case- 6 wks later and they appear to be missing for good. does anyone know where I can find replacement cables or if there are cables that are compatible with multiple brands of cameras? i contacted vivitar and they spoke to me as if i were trying to connect to jupiter. i know they don't make the exact same model any longer but i thought possibly their connection sites might remain the same for the sake of simplicity or convenience for when people like me lose their accessories. we have mobile phones that are still compatible with the charger from two or three years ago - why not a camera? appreciate help/ suggestions from all the electronic gadget wizards out there.
if you are looking for the USB cable used to transfer pics to your computer, you can buy a card reader which is about 15 dollars, and use that to transfer your images. It's so much easier than useing the usb cord, camera, etc.
with the card reader, all you need to do it take the storage media from your card and stick it in the card reader which connects to your usb on the computer.
the other cable probably hooks up to your tv so you can view it on the Television. This one really isn't that important in my opinion, but if you need it, contact best buy.
