I am thinking of purchasing a "Nikon 50mm F4" lens for my enlarger.
Is the quality with this lens any good?

If you are planning to print 35mm negatives, then this Nikon 50mm f/4 lens is the right choice. I've used Nikon enlarging lenses for 35mm negatives and had good results. If you plan to print medium-format negatives, you'll need a 75mm or 80mm lens. Generally, 75mm is considered ideal for 6x6 negatives, and 80mm for 6x7 negatives.
