Filter Holder Adapter

Which type of the filter systems do you think is better?
I'm starting to use ND and/or Grad ND for landscape photo and considering these two type filters.
One type, screw on glass based the filters. They are glass based, high quality. But one filters just for one diameter lens.
Another type, Cokin filter holder/adaptor/filters. With different adapters you can use filters on different diameter lenses. Specially you can adjust the horizontal line position for the Grad ND filters. But Cokin filters are made from plastics. I'm concerning about the temperature effect and qualities or the duration about the Cokin filters. But the screw-on glass filters can be expensive.
What is your opinions on these? Thanks for sharing.
Rectangle filters are better when using graduated filters. They give you an option to place the gradation a little up or down as needed. Plastic doesn't make a difference in the final picture and the ones by Cokin are very nice.
I have been using Cokin graduated filters for more than a decade and till now they are like new and with no drop in quality.
