israeli gas mask filters to prevent toxic or not? I worry about. Toxic radiation from Japan tell me that this device (israeli gas mask filters) can be prevented.
I bought this gas mask for my bug out kit, just in case of some kind of chemical, biological or nuclear attack. Hopefully that never happens! In testing this mask I found that even though it is technically expired the mask still seals out the outside air forcing all incoming air through the filter. Outgoing air is vented via a vent below the input valve. I pressure tested this mask and it appears to hold its pressure so even though it is technically expired I believe that it would work in an emergency. I in no way will certify my findings though, buy at your own risk.

Best thing to protect yourself from radiation is potassium iodide in my opinion. For the record, I live in japan.
