Best manually adjustable focus video camera?
I am looking for a good video camera to buy. I don't really care about its resolution or holding capacity. I just want a video camera which allows you to adjust the camera's focus manually, NOT auto-focus. Does anyone have any ideas on what is the best to get within a price range of under 1000?

The least expensive camcorder with externally controllable focus will be the Canon HV40 miniDV tape, DV/HDV format, camcorder - not a focus ring, but a thumb-wheel on the left side of the camcorder. Default is auto focus; but it is easy enough to get to manual focus.
If you need a focus ring, the standard definition Canon GL2 is probably about it and even it is outside your stated budget - You can select standard def DV on the HV40, but the GL2 has larger lenses and imaging chips so better low-light behavior.
Others worth a look but likely not in your price rane - just the least $ with a focus ring...
