We also do not know what sort of editing you expect to do, and you told us nothing about the computer hardware or editing software you plan to use - and whether is can deal with the file types these camcorders create.
Generally, I would suggest a camcorder with large lens filter diameter (to allow as much light in to the imaging chip), and large imaging chip (to deal with the light allowed in through the lens. In both cases, larger is better to accommodate low-light conditions. I also suggest a camcorder with a mic jack and manual audio control. And always capture using some sort of steadying device (tripod, chair, rock, shelf... but pretty much never handheld.
Since "amateur film making" generally means moving images, the stills capture capability (flash, high speed sequential shooting, still image megapixel count) is irrelevant.
Rather than comparing the features of specific camcorders, make a list of the features you need and find the camcorder that has those features. If these are the only two on your short list, then the HF R200.
