When do we have to get High Definition TVs?
I am told that in 2008 everyone will have to have a high definition tv. Can anyone tell me the reason for this? Plus can someone tell me at what period in time this has to be done?
It's some time in 2009, and you don't HAVE to get HDTV. If you do not have cable TV or satellite TV and you get your signal from an antenna, you will not be able to receive HD signals on your old set unless you buy a converter. The government is giving some sort of payment out toward buying one (which is stupid and a waste and will only maje the things cost more).
Your old set will get any programming through cable or satellite just fine. You just won't be able to watch it in HD.
