Why won't my Samsung LCD TV display my MacBook screen?
With a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter connected to a VGA cable, I plugged my MacBook into my Samsung LCD TV. The TV recognizes that something is plugged in since when I change my source from TV it displays "PC" briefly. My laptop recognizes the Samsung as "Samsung" appears on the Detect Displays menu option. However, after 2-3 seconds on the PC input source, the Samsung appears to shut off and does not display what is on my laptop. I even select mirroring on my laptop, so I have a feeling the issue is with the TV.
Wrong cable.
You cannot use a DVI-to-VGA cable with the miniDVI-to-DVI adapter.
You should be using a DVI-to-HDMI cable instead, to connect to your Samsung LCD TV's HDMI port.
