Any idea why Sony digital camera taking completely black photos???
I own a Sony digital camera. One day all of a sudden, the LCD went black. Even the shots taken are coming out completely black. The LCD works in playback mode so its not a LCD problem. Even taking pictures with the viewfinder are coming out black. Does any one know what the problem could be? Is it a lens or CCD problem? Can it be fixed easily?
Recently, there was a class-action lawsuit against Sony regarding faulty CCD arrays amongst a number of their cameras, both still photo and camcorders. Your best bet is to check out the website below and contact Sony regarding your camera. They will guide you through a series of tests that you can do while on the phone with them. If it is determined that the CCD is the problem, then you are eligible for a free repair at Sony's expense.
Make sure you hurry, I think their obligation ends some time in September or October.
