Which is the least expensive DSLR camera with inbuilt Image Stabilization & Live View, and good picture quality.
@ Jim: I'm talking abt DSLRs. I've heard that cameras like Sony DSLR A230 has built-in Image stabilization.
Here is the deal.
The two camera systems made for professional photographers (Nikon and Canon) have the image stabilization in certain lenses, lenses that can benefit from such a feature (usually 100 mm or longer focal lengths)
Why is this? Other than the fact that the stabilization is designed for specific lenses and thus can be more effective, cameras with "built-in" or sensor based stabilization generate a lot of heat during operation and there is an auto shutoff feature on the camera that prevents damage to the sensor. This is also why video features on dSLR's with CMOS sensors usually limit takes to under 10 minutes before shutting off.
If you think of it, live view on a 2 pound camera is sort of silly. One of the complaints heard a lot is blurred shots. Blur is caused by camera movement and when you try to hold a two pound camera at arms length, you will be introducing more camera movement and using live view will also heat up the sensor.
Maybe what you really need is just an other P&S camera, but one that allows you to take control over its shutter speed and aperture.
