What wiring kit(s) do I need to install two amps in my car?
I have two 12" type r alpine subs at 4 ohms and I want to get two alpine mrp-m500 amps for each sub and put them on a 2 ohm load. But the problem is, what wiring kit or kits do I need to do so?
Why would you want 2 amps? You can run more than 1 sub on an amp. I am assuming that the speakers are DVC to get your 2 ohms. To answer your question, You purchase a wiring kit for 1000W.
1. You run a fused wire from battery to the amp location.
2. Put a distribution block on the other end other wire.
3. Run wire to each amp from the block.
4. Ground the amps to the frame or chassis.
5. Run one RCA cable from head unit to the first amp
6. Run a second RCA cable from the output of the first amp to the input of the second.
7. Run a REM wire from the head unit to the first amp.
8. Run a wire from the first amp REM terminal to the second REM terminal.
9. Wire the speakers as you desire with the correct ohm rating you choose.
