Metal Step Down

How do i connect my battery to my quad? It's a Kawasaki KFX 400. Can I please get a step by step? Thanks! =)
I know red is positive, black is negative, but I'm cautious of connecting them. The red connector from the quad had a rubber cap, but the black one doesn't; it's just a metal tab that looks as if you screw it down? I don't know... Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to ride my quad today =D
Red terminal to the positive post on the battery. Black terminal to the negative. If not coloured then trace both wires. The one that bolts to the chassis or block is ground (-)
