Door stopper unexplainable movement?
What are possible explainations for a wall mounted coiled door stop to move on it's own? Keep in mind all windows or shut and is a new house.
This time of year, rodents look for shelter. New homes are not always an exception to a mouse moving in, even before people do.
Being a new installation, there could have been tension in the mounting. It could have slipped as the house settled in or the temperature changed, causing the coil to move.
The drywall crew left a ham sandwich in the wall, which fell as it decomposed, striking the stop spring mount from the inside.
Most likely, you compressed the spring with the door, looping one coil over another. Slight vibration or even a slight temperature change could have been enough to make the coils slip past each other, causing a sudden release of tension.
There is so little information to go by, you can't eliminate any natural causes at all very well. But it seems like you might be wanting to believe it's something more. so... obviously your house was built on a burial ground, and the haunting has started. The event is clearly proof of [insert favorite silly belief about spirits here].
