I own a Nikon D40, and I want to buy an AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D lens, what capabilities will I loose?
I own a Nikon D40, and I want to buy an AF NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8D lens. I will loose autofocus capability right?, but is there any other function that will not have in my camera?
No, it will act just like your 18-55 only the 50mm you will have to manual focus. Well done! Not many people that ask questions here can be bothered to think let alone do research. I'm impressed!
Oh, and even though it's manual focus, you do get a bit of focus confirmation in the viewfinder.
