Which do you perfer, Olympus or Nikon?
I've been looking for a new camera. I really like the nikon coolpix s550, but apparently the smile mode on it isn't as great as it's supposed to be and also the picture quality isn't that great either. So i was talking to a guy from carsand and mosier (camera store) and he tells me to get an olympus because they're shock proof (im clumsy). But is olmypus' quality any good? And are the cameras themselves worth it?
Canon, actually. I was canonized several years ago when I received my DRebel. Been a loyal customer ever since. Actually, Nikon makes a good camera, too. So does Olympus, but you're talking point and shoots, yes? I personally prefer the Nikon's over Olympus, but you can read up for yourself at:

Look at the camera database, find the models you are comparing and read the reviews. They will give some good things to think about from ease of use, to picture quality, etc.
