I was planning on getting myself a 42 inch LCD TV. I have a Philips home theater system which accepts 5.1 sound in through a SPDIF digital co-axial port.
I am planning on using my laptop as a streamer to stream High-def content onto the TV through the HDMI port. Since I do not have a SPDIF out on my laptop, I have to rely on the TV to output the audio to the Home Theater.
1. Are there LCD Tv's in the market that have a Digital Co-axial out. ( I would want to connect this to my home theater system)
2. Since I would be connecting my TV with an HDMI cable, ( both audio & video would be transmitted through HDMI), will the TV be able to filter & route this audio such that it comes through the Digital Co-ax port ?

You just gotta look for tv's and look at what kind of digital audio output they have. AN overwhelming amount of TV's use only optical digital out and not coax. To answer your second question, Yes the TV can filter out the audio from the HDMI and send it through the digital out port (but its most likely going to be through optical). You really have to look and get lucky to see coax. I'm pretty sure I've seen some so I know they exist but they are hard to find and are surprisingly more common on smaller tv's. A 42 inch is gonna have Optical most def.
