How do I set up a simple photo studio?
I got umbrellas and I got some light bulbs. Can anyone help me?
You will need at least a 500 watt bulb. Later when you earn some money, buy a good photo lamp like the Lowel-Totalite with stand. You can use your existing umbrella (if it is colour neutral) and a portable background stand (about $100) that you can hang your backgrounds on.
Buy some 4 yard lengths of cloth at your local yardage store (from the $1 table if they have one) in black, white and a few bright colours.
You can hang them as your background and by placing your subject at least 3 feet away from the background, you will eliminate both shadows and any creases in the cloth.
