How to convert computer towers to rack mounted units?
I have two old tower computers that are hosting several applications on our network. I would like to convert them into rack mount units. How can I do this? Can I just pull the hard drives and mount them in new rack units? Would it be better to start from scratch?
The absolute easiest solution is a "rack mount shelf" and putting your two towers side by side on it. See:

If you are concerned about the aesthetics, you'll have to actually purchase new rack-mountable cases, and pulling/reconfiguring your hardware is a whole other set of headaches.
