90mm 1:1 macro lens + raynox dcr 250?
Hey Everyone,
I was wondering what kinda of magnification you would get if you coupled a tamron 90mm macro 1:1 lens and a raynox dcr 250 (+8 diopter).
I've been considering this combination as I'd like a bit more magnification from 1:1 and don't want to use extension tubes (too much loss of light, until I get a flash). The DCR 250 also has fantastic optical quality, and provides hardly any loss of detail if stopped down a bit (which I'd be doing anyway)
So again, any ideas on what the magnification would be if I coupled these two, I'm GUESSING it would be around 1.7:1 perhaps? maybe 1.8:1?
thanks!
That Raynox thing is merely a piece of glass, i.e.a filter. A close up filter (technically it's a lens) is hardly better than an ice cube. You are getting a true macro lens--so if you want to get higher mag, use an extension tube.
If it's too dark, then up the ISO, or get a tripod.
