I have a 91' Honda civic Si. I want to have some body work, paint job, and body kit put on and I'm wondering the best and most cost effective way to do this.
My car has considerable rusting on both rear wheel wells near the bottom and a bit along the side skirt area. The spoiler at the back on top of the hatchand a bit of the roof panel are dented from a previous owner driving under a tree. The driver side mirror is cracked, and one of the hood hinges is rusted out and the hood on that side can totally be pulled free. Some of the body panels have uneven gaps due to a previous accident as well and don't line up perfectly. Mechanically the car is decent and my roommate is a mechanic so I'm not worried about that part. I just know that body and paint can be very expenssive.
Should I take it to a body shop so they can fix all the dents and rust and repaint the car, then buy a body kit and get it put on after all the work is done? Is it easy and can I put in on myself?
this would be an expensive job the rusty fender wells have got to be cut ouy and new panels mig welded in . if the hood hinge is rusty its bad .for the rust to be that high up in the body you had better check the strut towers gaps in the body panels , isnt good sounds like the car has seen better days
