Diffraction gratings, with green and red filter?
Hi, got a practical when green or red light is diffracted out, but when you measure the horizontal distance between the center and the diffracted light, do you measure the middle of the green fringe or the widest out to the side, or the closest to the the main center beam where the green light just appears.

Go with the "centre" of the line.
"Green" is actually a band of frequencies, so you are looking at batch of frequencies, any of which could be called green but we usually just take the central area as being the "correct" frequency.
