Help with an algebra question?
What is the length of the longest, straight, thin, rigid, solid, glass, green, striped stick that can fit into a right rectangular prism measuring 3 feet by 4 feet by 12 feet?
Someone told me it was 13, but I assumed it would be 12...why would it be 12? Thanks! c:
the length of the long diagonal connecting two opposite corners of the prism is
= sqrt((sqrt(3^2 + 4^2))^2 + 12^2)
= 13 feet
