Is the protective rigid film covering the screen of a Samsung N310 to be removed?
My Samsung N310 has a (seemingly) rigid, transparent "film" covering its LCD screen.The point is, that film works like a mirror, reflecting the image of the PC user, and I find that reflection quite annoying. Should I get rid of that "film" or is that meant to be an integral part of the screen?
Some screens come with a protective film used primarily for shipping. If this film has an edge all around it that you can get to and pull on, then it is perfectly safe to remove as this is not an integral part of the screen itself. If it was, then it would not be accessible for easy removal. You may want to keep it in case you want to put it back on down the road for some reason, but once it's removed, it will not cling back onto the screen as nicely or cleanly as it is now and you'll lose that protection.
Your Samsung N310 display is a "glossy" display type that will produce a significant reflection and glare (like a mirror) regardless if the film is present or not. This type of display produces a very bright, crisp, clean image, but the reflection glare that it produces is the downside. That's the one reason I stay away from them.
