I need a threaded ring that fits around the light bulb socket and holds the shade in place?
The original ring fell and broke. It was coming loose every once in a while and the shade was resting atop the light bulb. So far I have been unable to even find a name for this part. As stated, it is a threaded ring that fits around the light bulb socket and holds the shade in place. The shade is bell-shaped and fits around the light bulb and socket.
Lowe's sells these "lock- rings" in the lighting (or electrical) department. If they are out of stock, depending on how bad you want it, you can just buy a light fixture that has one in it. You may even like the new one so much that you would rather have that one than the original one. Just install the new fixture. Hope this helps.
