Camera not catching light from strobe?
I am using a Nikon d60 and trying to trigger my white lightning ultra1200 and it fires but when I look back at the picture You can see that the light was not captured.
I believe it is triggered too fast because when l look back at the picture I can see the modeling light going off.
I am using my sb-600 and the slave sensor to trigger it.
The Nikon D60 when used with the SB-600 in TTL modes will prematurely trigger your White Lightning strobes.
Solution: Put the SB-600 into *manual* mode. This eliminates the preflash. Then turn the power down on the SB-600, 1/1 = full power, while 1/64 is the minimum power.
If you want to minimize the effects of the SB-600, set it to manual at 1/64 power and aim it at the ceiling. It will still properly trigger the White Lightnings, but won't affect the overall exposure.
If you want the SB-600 flash to be part of the exposure, you'll need to turn the power up and experiment with how much power in manual mode you want to use, which is affected by distance to subject, direct vs bounce, etc.
Anyway, putting the SB-600 into manual mode should do it. As for the camera, it's best to use manual mode and fix the aperture and shutter speed as well (typically 1/125 for a shutter speed).
