What is the best Nikon Coolpix compact camera?

I need something that is slim, takes good action shots, and has a good zoom (my current camera is a 3x).

I'm in a college marching band and need a slim camera that I can fit in my uniform pocket during football games. Which Nikon Coolpix do you think takes the best pictures with the above criteria in mind? I've looked at the S3000, S4000, and S8000, and the S8000 is probably a little too wide. But I know that there are other models out there.
