Temperature effects on SLR Pentax film camera?
I recently discovered an old SLR film camera in my parent's basement. It's a Pentax, and in good condition. I want to take it out and shoot some winter shots, but am concerned about how the temperature may effect the camera or film. I live in Minnesota, and it's probably 20 degrees outside right now. If I go out for around 2 hours to shoot, will the cold damage the camera?
Probably not, those older cameras are pretty tough but I would do some things to protect it from the weather some. Keep it wrap up some when you are not shooting photos so that if can keep from freezing some and maybe keep the outdoor shooting to about an hour or an hour and half.
I have not shot too much in cold weather being a Florida guy but was in Beijing China during the winter once and was able to shoot just fine except for the fact I was cold. : )
