And it says nothing of the actual lighting fixture itself. I'm wondering does it come with the stand and bulb and everything or is that something entirely different and they are just sold separately?
If so, what are the technical terms for all the pieces to a softbox?
And also if you could throw in what softbox you would reccomend that would be awesome.
A softbox is just a light modifier - you buy one to add to lights you've got, they don't come with lights or stands or anything!
Softboxes are basically a frame on which you've got material (black on outside, reflective silver on inside) and they have one or two panels of diffusion material. They come in different sizes and fittings according to what lights you use.
Alien Bees lights use a different mount to, say, Bowens lights (which use a standard S mount) if you're talking studio (monolight) lighting. Softboxes for speedlights (portable flashes) have different mountings still (usually a spigot onto the top of a lightstand).
I've got softboxes for both speedlights and studio lights, as I have both. Can't recommend any until I know what lights you have.
