portrait studio kit, which one is better?
For my home use and my hobby.

I swear I answered this once...
Anyway if I didn't here goes. The 2nd kit for a couple reasons. More lights is more better. 3 is really a bare minimum. You can do 2, but you have to be on black backgrounds or you need background lighting.
Black and white backgrounds are way more versatile than the school picture blue mottled one. Who wants their pics taken in front of that? Little kids with cheesy smiles and overly styled hair? Not even them.
The reflector is nice to have, but not a studio essential. I use mine more for outside portraits than anything. Kit 1 doesnt come with a holder even, so you'd need a person to hold it just right. Too much chances for error in my book.
Go for Kit 2. For the few extra dollars, you'll get more lights instead of one 80w/s you get 2 that go up to 160w/s. I'm not crazy about the backdrop sizes. 6'x9' will work to shoot one person standing up. Bigger is better but in this case, the color of the muslin in kit 1 is unusable for the most part. Good Luck!
