How do you use the Sekonic light meter for a studio shoot using flash lighting?
I can not grip this light meter and how to use it. I have some basic knowledge of the meter but i don't understand everything like how to set the shutter to sync speed? I have a canon 5d mark II if this helps. Thanks!

Plug your flash into the flash meter, put the invercone over the sensor, position the meter close to your subject, point the sensor towards the flash and fire it using the button on the meter, the meter will give you an f number, set your camera to that f number and the flash part of the exposure will be correct. Because the flash duration is so fast (1/1000th of a second or faster depending on the power level set) shutter speed is irrelevant to the flash part of the exposure, it only effects the ambient light content and only matters when you want to blend the light from the flash with ambient light.
All DSLR's have a fastest sync speed called the X speed, it's the fastest shutter speed where all the sensor is exposed and varies from camera to camera, even from model to model and can be anything from 1/125th to around 1/250th, for your 5D it's 1/250th.
