how do you get studio-like lighting on a photo at home with no prefessional equipment?
my friend shot this of my other friend at her house... she has a $3000 dollar canon camera, but no other equipment.. how in the world did she do this?

This has some direct lighting. Maybe the on camera flash. Notice the harsh shadows of her nose and teeth? The shadows behind her were taken out with post processing software. As Tyler says, the only to really know the lighting set up is to ask the photographer.
