I have a Canon t1i. I am looking to get a speedlite for it. I was thinking of getting the 430ex II, but I am not sure. Any suggestions? I would consider non-Canon brands. Also, I want to trigger it wirelessly. what is the best inexpensive option that works well? Thanks!
I know Canon owners defend their brand to death but I don’t see anything really spectacular about the 430ex II. It has a 2 sec recycle but will 4 sec recycle make that much difference to most users? And many times the flash doesn’t fully discharge anyway so recycle times are shorter. I would look at third party flash before I paid $280 or so for the 430exII. I would also consider if I really needed a 141’@105mm guide number. Nice if you need it but extra cost if you don’t.
