How do I calculate the find the image of an object in a two-lens system?
a) An object is 24 mm from a 48 mm converging lens. Where is the image located? What is the
magnification?
Another 48 mm lens is located 24 mm from the first lens on the same side of the object as the first lens. That second lens uses the image from the first lens as its object. Where is the image located? What is the magnification? What is the total magnification of the two lens system?
The 48 m lens refers to its focal length. Is the second lens converging or diverging? Does it make a difference when calculating 1/f = 1/do + 1/di? I want to draw a diagram but I'm not sure if the second lens should be diverging or converging. Does it affect the answer? Thanks.
a) As long as it is behind the focal point, the image will be located on other side of lens 48 mm away, and will be inverted and twice as big
