Usb Reader

How do you retrieve your pics from your SD Mem Card using the Kodak SD Card Reader (portable USB)?
I've double-clicked My Computer & I see the device as a G drive.
It gives me the option to open as a portable device and import pics
I clicked import pics and even though there's over 500 pics, it's saying there aren't
any pics. What am I doing wrong? 
Please help.
I have a Kodak R131 SDCard Reader(Portable USB)
clean the card contacts and try again,only use a lint free cloth and no liquids.if this don't work try another pc it could be a fault with the reader
