What's the best pocket camcorder to buy?
i am looking at a couple particularly the flip video and the creative vado... but do these work well on a mac? if not what's a good choice instead?

Depends on the Mac - most of these low-end camcorders record in a very highly compressed MPEG2 format that requires you to convert the file using StreamClip (check the apple.com downloads area) before loading the clips to iMovie.
I *think* the only manufacturer that uses an easier, more Mac-friendly, file type is Kodak. I am pretty sure thy save to .mov (QuickTime) format. But I can't comment on how good these low-end camcorders are...
