Where in the spinal cord is gray/white matter located?
I believe that the gray matter is in the dorsal horns, but where is the white matter located?
the white matter is everything surrounding the dorsal horn. think about it... gray matter is composed of dendrites and cell bodies; the white matter is composed of axons and because the axons are usually myelinated, the myelination is what gives the spinal cord it's WHITE color. sooo...imagine the white matter around the gray matter as insulation...the same way myelination provide insulation by surrounding axons
